When is a Dominant not a Dominant? The answer, in My opinion, is that as Dominance is an internal event, a Dominant is always a Dominant. However, many get caught up in a system of “ought to”  behaviours. I’ve read many threads on Informed Consent about whether or not a Femme-Domme is still being Dominant if She enjoys sex in missionary position. This seems bizarre to Me in all honesty. It’s akin to maintaining that skin colour will alter if a person stands on one leg!

The fact that these things are even debated shows that we are ascribing a set of values and expected behaviours onto people who should be free to be who T/they are as long as T/they don’t cause others harm. What happened to embracing the beautiful uniqueness of individuality?

I recently entered into correspondence with a Dominant who was finding it almost impossible to explore an aspect of themselves because of such pre-concieved notions. How ridiculous that they should find this to be the case in a community that prides itself on openness of expression. If I enjoy sensuality does that make Me less Dominant? No! Because I’m Dominant and comprehend this on a deep level I’m free to express Myself as I wish. Because I understand that others are limited in their perceptions, I’m mindful about how and where I express certain aspects of Myself, not because it would leave Me feeling I had “lost face” or authority in some odd manner, but because I’m aware that it would cause others to feel too challenged and insecure.

However, this definition of Dominance then leads to a deeper question. If Dominance is something which is intrinsic to the make-up of that person, rather than posturing, use of equipment or adoption of a style of dress… How many Dominants are there really?

We’re having heaps of fun in The Outer Sanctum. Definitely one of My better ideas! Despite the fact that it’s early days, the Public Instructions and Confessional are proving popular and LOTS of fun!

So far, 4 serves are rising to My first challenge although they are not permitted to gain any satisfaction from it! LOL!

Just to round out the oddities…..

On the day of the funeral (Friday 21/11/2008), My son’s hamster died. I received text messages asking if dear Gherkin could be buried in the garden…and could he please freeze said hamster until his youngest sister could attend the burial.  I agreed to this, and, all concerned for My son, called his eldest sister to see how he was coping…this is the reply “he’s fine…but he’s just used frozen the dead hamster as an offensive weapon to beat Peon and won’t let me use Gherkin as a comedy prop for a photo…tell him he’s unfair Mum!”
